Obituary

Mrs. Asalee Robinson, 86, was born in Florence, SC on May 5, 1936. She transitioned peacefully on September 15, 2022, to her final resting place.

Asalee was a graduate of Wilson High School. At an early age she joined the Church of Christ Highway 76, where she accepted Christ as her Savior.  She was employed for many years at Electric Motors and General Electric.

One of her most extraordinary attributes was her willingness to help anyone in need, even if she had to go without. She made everyone she encountered feel like family. She always had a warm smile for anyone who needed her. She loved caring for children and making her delicious biscuits. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and friend who always put the needs of her family and friends first.

Asalee was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Daisy Rafus Robinson, a son, Ulysses "Smokey" Robinson, a daughter, Ruby Robinson, a sister, Lizzie Mae Robinson, two brothers, Sidney Robinson and Ernest Robinson, two sisters- in- law, Lula Mae King and Alma Brown, five brothers- in -law, R. C. James, George King, Cecil Brown, David Brown and Chambers Hannah.

She leaves to cherish loving memories: her husband of 64 years, Marion Robinson; eight children, Shirley (David) Lockett, Julia (Maxie) Taylor, Lillian (Mack) Douglas, Jackie Robinson, Frances Robinson, Etheleen (Phillip) Gurley, Kathleen (Arvin) Bacote, all of Florence, SC and Lisa (Theodore) Moye of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren raised in the home, Gafuskie Richardson, Diamond Robinson, Dominique Lucas and Elexis Robinson; two sisters, Martha (Luther Earl) Harrison and Margaret (Mack) Brunson; a brother-in-law, Frierson (Betty) James; two sisters-in-law, Louvenia Brown and Virginia Hannah; a god sister, Joyce Morris; a very special niece and nephew, Daisy Robinson and Michael Brunson; two god daughters, Gladys Moses and Deloris Taylor; twenty eight grandchildren, Gafuskie, Rodney, Ronjia, Lashawn, Lavone, Latonne, Dedra, Antonio, Chauncey, Tanzania, Janay, Shanay, Desmond, Dontrell, Diamond, Derrick, Jalea, Dominique, Elexis, Te'Lisa, Telik, Te'Liyah, Kayon, Jalauna, Cheyenne, Janayah, Jakera and Janasia; thirty great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends.
