Beatrice Brown Rorie was born on April 27, 1927, in Florence, South Carolina to Sam and Hester Grant Brown. She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

Beatrice was educated in the public schools of Florence County. She was formerly employed at Electric Motors and Wentworth Manufacturing. She worked at General Electric for many years until retirement. Beatrice was united in holy matrimony to James Rorie.

Beatrice was a faithful member of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church until her health decline. She served in several auxiliaries: usher board, Willing Workers and the Senior Choir. She was also a member of West Temple Lodge 301 Order of Eastern Star for 52 years.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Emma White, Louise Moses, Carrie Smith, Vera Lee Brown, Queen Ester McCall, Ella Mae Lewis, Sam, Elijah, Preston Brown, and Wilbert James.

Those left to cherish her memories are: her niece Mable Johnson; A special grand niece, Kathleen Brown; adopted granddaughter, Evette Bradley; goddaughter Eteckia Wingate; a host of nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand, other relatives and friends.
