Billy Eugene Young was born on March 18, 1949, in Florence County, South Carolina to the late Eugene and Ceree Williams Young. He departed this earthly life on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Billy attended the public schools of Florence County and was a proud graduate of Wilson High School. He received his CDL from Trucking School in Atlanta, Georgia. He worked as a contractor for Vulcraft of Florence, South Carolina until his retirement.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Tasha Young, and cousin/ sister Betty Ann Hughes.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Young; his son Billy Young, Jr.; His daughter Dr. Dierdre Young; Grandchildren, Billy Young III, and Alexis Cadore; a sister Janice (Willie) Egleton; a brother, Walter (Jacqueline) Young; Billy was also preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Joann Bradley, Mary Alice Gregg, and Ethelene Kennedy, and a brother-in-law Elder Eddie Gregg; He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers-in-law, Abraham, (Esther) Merritts, Roosevelt (Arletta) Merritts, and Alexander Bradley; sister-in-law Juanita (Samuel) Mitchell, who he helped raise and called his "Rabbit", and Bobby Jean Gregg; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
