Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Scipio was born March 1, 1950 in Florence, S.C. She was born to the late Roosevelt and Marie Johnson. She departed her earthly life on Friday March 17, 2023 at MUSC Hospital.

Catherine attended the public schools of Florence County. She was employed as a caregiver until her health failed.

Catherine was a giving and kindhearted person. She would open her home to anyone in need.

Catherine was preceded in death by her late husband George W. Scipio, daughter Marylin Johnson-Hunt, brother William Johnson, and sister Dorothy Jean Johnson-Jones.

She leaves to cherish her children Roosevelt (Shirl) Johnson and George (Quandrea) Scipio. Grandchildren: Joe Nathan Brown III, Jaquetta (Tyler) Gadson, Roineyshia Nelson-Johnson, and Quinn Alexander Scipio. Great Grandchildren: Jala and Jordyn Brown, Makayla and Taylor Gadson; one brother Roscoe (Shirley) Brunson; one sister Rose Bynum and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
