Deacon Leo J. Myers, affectionately known as "Junior Boy," was born on July 19, 1944, in Pamplico, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Charlie Myers and the late Mrs. Isabella Gordon Myers. He peacefully departed this life on April 4, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House following an illness.
"Junior Boy" was educated in the Florence Public School system and was a proud graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1964. He began his spiritual journey at Mill Branch A.M.E. Church in Pamplico, South Carolina. Later in life, he became a devoted member and served faithfully as a Deacon at Shining Light Pentecostal Church in Darlington, South Carolina.
Throughout his working years, Deacon Myers was employed by the City of Florence, Pepsi-Cola, and Suburban Extended Stay in Florence. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Mr. Charles "C.W." Myers; and his brother, Mr. Tamisha Pierce.
Deacon Myers will always be remembered for his radiant smile that could light up any room and his deep love for music, which brought joy to those around him.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his sisters, Ms. Virginia Myers Brown, Ms. Rosa Bell O'Neal, Mrs. Teresa M. (Lavon) Ervin, and Ms. Ida Jean Pierce; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold his gentle spirit and loving heart close.
