Mr. James Peterson was born in Woodrow, SC a son of the late Perry and Annie Mae Wright Peterson. He departed this earthly life on Monday June 27, 2022. He was a graduate of the School for the Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg, SC and attended Trade School in Tampa, Florida. He was employed for SC Commission for the Blind for forty years.  He joined the Church of Christ after his marriage to the late Dorothy Mae McCall Peterson. He moved to Rock Hill, SC in 1987.

Those who will cherish loving memories are: two sons, Richard Lee McCall of Florida and James Anthony Peterson of Rock Hill, SC; three brothers, William (Ellie) Peterson of Ft. Washington, MD, Dallas (Pearline) Peterson of Clinton, MD and Charles  (Evelyn) Peterson of Suitland, MD; a sister, Cora Sanders of Florence, SC; a sister-in-law, Ruby Peterson of Sumter; three brothers-in-law, Woodrow (Vilene) McCall, Wallace (Minnie Sue) McCall, Sr. of Florence, SC and Daniel (Ann) McCall of Darlington, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
