Mr. James Edward Pompey was born May 21, 1955 in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of the late James and Almeta Jackson Pompey and entered into eternal rest on October 14, 2022.

James was employed with Burch Roofing Company and Florence Morning News.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wilson and Janie Mae Pompey and one brother Johnny Pompey.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife Jacqueline S. Pompey; two sisters, Janie Williams and Almeta (James) Stokes; three brothers Frank (Josephine) Pompey, David Pompey and Jerry Pompey; two sisters-in-law, Mary Harold Brewer, and Hattie Lee Wilson; one brother-in-law Cliff Waiters; several nieces and nephews.

The family is receiving friends at 510 Prince Street, Florence.
