James Richardson, Jr., affectionately known as "Sip" and "Speedy"  was born on August 29, 1940, in Darlington County, South Carolina, to the late Gladys Richardson and Zell Brown. He departed this life on May7, 2025 at the age of 84.

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was admired for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. He was united in holy matrimony to his loving wife, Betty Ruth Richardson, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.

Mr. James worked many years at Vulcraft of Florence, SC, and later became a supervisor at Florence Concrete in Florence, SC, where he dedicated many years of hard work and Leadership. He later retired before becoming ill.

Mr. James lived with honor, humility, and deep love for his family and friends. He also lived his final days peacefully and joyfully, surrounded by his loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and strength will forever be treasured by all who knew him.

James leaves to cherish his memory: his children: Yvonne (Earl) Peoples, Harry Richardson, Robert Richardson, Sr., and Delanie (Gary) Epps; his grandchildren: Tasha Peoples, Latoya Gibson Dominique (Trey) Wilson, Robert L. Richardson, Jr., Rosalyn Bell, Earl (Taylor) Peoples Jr., and Brittany Richardson; seven great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy; a special daughter-in-law, Willie Mae Blakely; his loving sister, Alease Robinson; close, loving nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
