Johnny Ross, Sr. was born on October 3, 1943, in Augusta, Georgia to the late Maggie Ross. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Johnny moved to Florence, South Carolina at the age of 21 and was employed with several businesses to include, Canada Dry Company, the mill, he was a cement finisher for Bishop Glen and also worked for the City of Florence. In 1965 he married Lillie and to this union five children were born.  In his pastime he enjoyed watching westerns, listening to music and relaxing on the porch.

Johnny was preceded in death by three of his children, Ronald Ross, Felicia Ross, and Barbara Ross- Jackson.

Johnny leaves to cherish his precious memories: two sons,  Johnny Ross, Jr., and Chris (Diane) Ross; two sisters-in-law, Tillie (Nathaniel) Smith and Carol White; one son-in-law, Robbie Jackson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, Robbie (April) Ross, Antonio ( Alysia) Ross,  Joey (Sherena) Ross, Yeal Johnson,  Johnny Ross, Jr. III, Zaccuhus Ross, Zyria Ross,  Quatashia Bruce,  Kiera Brown, Jalyiah Ross,  Zhane Ross,  Tyiana Ross,  Christian Ross,  and Dewayne Ross.
