Mr. Larry Peoples, son of the late Mr. Leroy Sr. and Mrs. Sallie Mae Peoples, was born January 22, 1959, in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life Saturday, February 11, 2023, at his home.

Larry was educated in the Public Schools of Florence County, graduating from West Florence High School in 1977. After graduating high school, Larry served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He served from 1977 until being honorably discharged and transferred to the Naval Reserve in 1983. During his time in service he was awarded the Navy Good Conduct Medal (NGCM) for his honorable and faithful service.

Larry's service continued throughout his life and his career. He was employed with Florence County School District 1 from 1988 until his passing. For over three decades, he was a fixture in FSD1. His quick wit and sharp sense of humor was uniquely his own and he was always there to make you laugh and provide a helping hand.

Larry had an unwavering faith in God and was a devoted member of House of Jesus Christ. His love for God was constantly on display through the way he loved his family, friends (and his Dallas Cowboys).

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. Leroy Sr. and Mrs. Sallie Mae Peoples; and sister, Shirley Griffiths.

Left to cherish Mr. Peoples memory are, his children Tijuanna Wright of Fayetteville, NC, Whitney Peoples of Atlanta, GA, and Larry Peoples Jr. of Florence, SC; four sisters, Deloris Peoples of Troy, NY, Betty Dowling of Denmark, SC, Sallie P. Peoples of Florence, SC and Belinda Peoples of Queens, NY; one brother, Rev. Leroy (Julia) Peoples Jr. of Pamplico, SC; a special niece, Latoya (George) Taylor of Charlotte, NC., 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Larry will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.
