Obituary

Marvin Levern Wilson was born on June 8, 1971, in Florence, South Carolina, the beloved son of Bennie Joe "Tommy" Timmons and Jaqueline S. Pompey. On September 15, 2025, Marvin peacefully entered into eternal rest.

He attended South Florence High School and worked as both a painter and landscaper. However, his greatest passion was cooking. Marvin spent much of his life working as a chef in various restaurants, but his true joy came from preparing meals for others. Whether for family, friends, or coworkers, Marvin found happiness in the kitchen and took pride in serving dishes made with love. Seeing others enjoy his food brought him genuine delight.

Marvin was known for his vibrant personality, sense of humor, and ability to bring laughter into any room. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

Among the things Marvin held dearest in life were his family and his unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys—his team, through and through.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Pompey; his grandparents, Rosa Wilson Black, David Wilson, Harley Timmons, and Annie Lee Timmons; his sister, Falisha Maloye; and his brother, Timothy Brown and an aunt Cynthia Timmons.

Marvin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He is survived by his parents, Bennie Joe "Tommy" Timmons and Jaqueline S. Pompey of Florence, SC; his children, Quante Daniels, Shirkiya Bull, and Khalis Byrd, who was raised as a daughter, all of Florence, SC; and his siblings, Angela Herbert of Florence, SC, Shannon Brewer of Anderson, SC, Indiana, and Tommy D. Myers of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by a brother-like friend, Christopher Bellamy of Florence, SC; a special uncle, Michael Wilson of Florence, SC; and a host of aunts and uncles, including Mary (Harold) Brewer, Geraldine (Gerald) Green, Joyce Timmons, and Clifton Waiters. Marvin will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

"Though his earthly journey has ended, Marvin's laughter echoes in our hearts, his stories live on in our memories, and his love remains forever etched in our souls."
