Mrs. Mattie Lee Titus 84, was born July 17, 1937 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Mr. Lloyd Lee and Mrs. Rosa Wilson Lee. She was carried off on the wings of angels and entered into the pearly gates of heaven on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Titus was educated in the public schools of Florence County. Her foundation was centered on the everlasting word of God. It was further nurtured and watered by her mother, father, siblings, children, grandchildren and family members. She served faithfully in several roles as a woman of God, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, community mother, friend, and so much more for over eight decades. She was a member of Carver Street Baptist Church.
Mrs. Titus was preceded in death by her parents whom lived faithfully for the Lord, the late father Mr. Lloyd Lee and mother Mrs. Rosa Wilson Lee and late step-mother Mrs. Carrie Lee of Florence, SC; her God-fearing brothers and sisters-in-laws Garner (Minder) Lee, Lonner (Lucille) Lee, Sr., Cranston (Nancy) Lee and Leroy Lee.
Mattie Lee Titus is survived by her devoted and caring husband of sixty-two years, Preston Titus. Those whom Mrs. Mattie Titus has poured into their souls: brother/nephew Annorie (Angela) Lee, her oldest daughter and best friend Ivied (David) Titus, loving and steadfast daughter Deloris (late Melvin) Johnson, forever devoted daughter Idena (Billy Earl) Titus-Simmons, caring and loving momma's boy Ludwie (Samantha) Titus, spiritual and natural twin Vernette (Sean) Squire, and her whole heart Christopher Titus; god-daughters Cindy (Calvin) Ellerbe and Francis Thomas; a one in a million devoted steadfast granddaughter Dana Johnson of the home, great granddaughters Natalie Lynn Woods and Presley Woods of the home and a devoted kind hearted grandson, Melvin Johnson, of the home; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends from near and afar.
