Obituary

Mitchell Williams, affectionately known as "Mitch," was born and raised in Jessup, Georgia, the late Roosevelt Williams and the late Lois Benton. He departed this earthly life on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina.

"Mitch" attended the public schools of Wayne County. At an early age, Mitch joined the United States Armed Forces. Later, he pursued a career as a truck driver, which led him to meet the love of his life, Lisa. Mitch was known for his loving, caring, and generous nature. If he had it, you had it. Mitch's famous words of encouragement were, "There is calm before the storm. There is darkness before the dawn, but in life, prayer changes everything."

In addition to his parents, Mitch was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosetta Williams and Lois Hansbury.

Mitch leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories to his beloved wife Lisa Williams of Florence, SC; His mother-in-love Ronnie Lyde of Florence, SC; brother-in-law KyShawn Lyde of Florence, SC; two sisters Michelle Morris of Jessup, GA and Tonya Mobley of Rockhill, SC; nine brothers, Ulyesses (Dororthy) Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Wayne James, Joseph McCray and Antonio Grant all of Jessup, GA, Victor James of Waycross, GA, and Ulyesses Grant of Charlotte, NC; three sisters-in law, Blondell (Benjie) Brown of Florence, SC, Whitney Lee and Melissa Davis both of Columbia, SC; a Special Uncle James Grant; a host other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 116 S. Aiken Drive, Florence, SC.
