We regret to announce the passing of Mr. Philmore Echols who died on Friday April 19, 2024. Please keep this family in your prayers.
Mr. Philmore"George" Echols, Jr. was born on July 7, 1943 in
Florence, South Carolina to the late Philmore and Amelia Grant
Echols. Sr. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 19, 2024
surrounded by his loving family.
George was educated in the Florence County public school system.
He was employed by Darlington Veneer for 30 years until his health
declined. He dedicated his life to Jehovah and the Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah witness.
"George" was preceded in death by his parents, his son Anthony
Echols, daughter Debra Washington, granddaughter Nikki Thomas,
and a grandson Jacari Austin, his brothers Moses, Roland, James and
John Echols; sisters, Lillie Bell King, Dorothy King and Emma Jean
Echols.
"George" leaves to cherish his fond memories too: his loving wife of
56 years Gracie Trappier Echols; daughters, Valencia Thomas and
Philana Echols; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; his
brothers, Robert Echols and Monroe (Margaret) Echols; his sisters,
Laura Thompson, Hester Echols, Romell Fleming, Emma (Sammie)
Kelly, Sr.; Amelia (Curtis) Cato and Maggie Marks; dedicated sister,
Jessie Mae Harley; sisters-in-law, Lucinda (Carl) Mack, Sr., Sylvia
(Toby) Timmons, and Juanita Davis; special nephew, Sammie
Kelly, Jr.; a special niece Teri Cato- Damon; A host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
