Russell James was born on March 1, 1960, in Darlington, South Carolina, to the late Robert James and Gladys Jeffery. He departed this earthly life on August 10, 2026 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina.

Russell received his education in the public schools of Florence and graduated from West Florence High School. Upon graduation he worked various jobs at restaurants, Florence Steam Laundry and even operated his very own business James Floor Cleaning Service before truly finding his passion as a Truck Driver. Russell was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.

In addition to his parents, Russell was also preceded in death by his brother Robin James.

Russell leaves to cherish his precious loving memories: his wife Annie James; his children, Russell James, Jr., Lakeisha Livingston, Deon Gavin, Shanon Pearce, Tobias (Kristina) Howard, and Kelvin (Jade) Howard; one granddaughter, Kiley Howard; his sister Sharon Craft, a brother, Throst James; one sister-in-law, Sheron (Jerry) Grant; three brothers-in-law, Anthony Howard, Emmett Howard, and TJ Brooks; a special friend Annette Jackson; a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
