The family appreciates all the prayers and love bestowed upon them during their time of bereavement.

Valerie Yvette Anthony- Marshall was born November 14,1956 in New York, New York to the late John and Marjorie Anthony. She was called to her heavenly home on January 29, 2024.

Valerie attended the public schools of Florence, South Carolina and graduated from West Florence High School in 1973. She received many awards and accolades which included certifications and administrative studies. She was employed by the public and private schools of California and New York. She met the love of her life, James Marshall, and they were married in 1990.

Valerie was loved and adored by many and affectionately known as everyone's "auntie". She had a great passion for family, music and she loved to dance! She was the life of the party. The beacon of life she bestowed upon so many would truly be missed.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Marjorie Anthony and her sister, Barbara Rush.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving and dedicated husband, James Marshall; Her beloved daughter Akasha (John) Peele; Grandsons Marques and Jaden Armstrong; brothers Michael (Syeria) Anthony, Mark Anthony and Cleveland Rush, Jr.; sisters, Vanessa Shendi, Kim (Adam) Davis, Martha (Ronald) Benjamin, Jennifer Anthony,  Patricia Rush, and Linda Johnson; and Patricia; A host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and friends.
