General Langston Brown Jr. was born January 21, 1939 to the late General Langston Brown Sr. and Janie Singletary Brown.  He joined the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church at an early age and became a dedicated member of various ministries, serving as the Adult Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Chairman of the Deacon Board.  He was a faithful member of the Evergreen Community always willing to help his neighbors.

He is proceeded in death by a son Michael Brown, his brother the late Elliott Brown who is survived by his wife Marie Woodberry Brown, and their 3 children, Sonya Brown, Tracey Brown, and Elliot Brown Jr.

General was a graduate of Wilson High School and attended Denmark Technical College in Denmark SC.  He is a retired Navy Veteran.

General was employed with Shaw Lumber Company, The Vulcraft Group, and then with East Coast Technology until retirement.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Minister Adelaide D. Brown; their six beloved children, Langston Levern (Faye) Brown, Cherylena (kha) Brown, Teresa Lasttes (Darryl) Brown, Laron Bernard (Bonnie) Brown, General Decar (Doris) Brown, and Joseph McArthur (Tonya) Brown; 16 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; a host of Sisters in law; Brothers in law; Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

He was a loving husband, a great father, trusted friend and a pillar of the community.
